Antonio J. Arraiza Rivera is a lecturer in Spanish.
Antonio J. Arraiza Rivera (Puerto Rico, 1987) holds a BA from the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras and a Ph. D. from Harvard University. His current academic interests focus on the poetry and prose of Early Modern Iberia and the New World, in particular, depictions of writing in the context of lyric poetry as a "new" genre and its relations to constructions of authorship and dynamics of social exchange progressively detached from court-centered patronage. His scholarship also explores examples of luso-castilian bilingualism in Early Modern Portugal and the lasting influence of the work of Luis de Gongora both in Portugal and viceregal Mexico.
