Cathy Culot has taught all levels of French language courses. She also teaches an intermediate-level writing course. She redesigned the curriculum of 21F.314 (IAP Study Abroad) and developed a new syllabus using the theme of “Belgium: Big Successes of a Small Country.” She launched a 2-week study abroad trip in Belgium in January 2013. She has also been the Transfer Credit Advisor in French since 2010. In 2014, Culot was awarded the SHASS Levitan Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching based on MIT students nominations. Research grants include the Gilberte Furstenberg & Douglas Morgenstern Fund for Innovation in Language Instruction in 2016, the MIT French Initiatives Endowment Fund in 2012 and in 2007 and the Consortium for Language Teaching and Learning in 2006 and in 2008.
