Developing Content for Open Online Course Platforms:
The Experience of Spanish 3 on MITx

Roberto Rey Agudo will report on his experience developing materials for use in the MITx platform in the context of a project funded by Gilberte Furstenberg & Douglas Morgenstern Fund for Innovation in Language Instruction. The presentation will address the following questions: Where can online instruction have a greater impact in language teaching in the context of high-residency instruction? What is needed for MITx to become a viable platform for language instruction? Roberto Rey Agudo is currently a Research Assistant Professor at Dartmouth, and a former lecturer in Spanish at MIT.
