Javier Barroso's research focuses on the intersection of Latin American fictional narratives, history, and politics. His main fields of study include 20th and 21st century Latin American fiction with an emphasis on Mexican and Argentine narrative, contemporary Mexican and Southern Cone film, and language instruction. He has ample experience teaching foundational language courses with new technologies and tools, emphasizing the integration of language and culture in the classroom.
