Her thesis was on "The Images of American vs. European Women in the Novels of Henry James". In Germany she worked as a radio news anchor and journalist. Since moving to the US, she has been teaching German language classes (first through fourth semester) for the past 16 years at Rice University, the University of Houston and most recently at Harvard University, Boston University, Suffolk University and the Goethe Institut Boston.
