Fall 2020 Class Locations and Level Placement
All 21G subjects in Fall 2020 will be offered remotely, with synchronous class meetings in Zoom. 21G.056/356 will also include asynchronous class delivery. You may confirm 21G subjects offered this fall through the Academics page by selecting the relevant area of study.
If you are considering registration in a 21G class and would like to sit in, please see information HERE (MIT authentication required). In most cases, you are requested to contact the instructor to confirm the Zoom classroom location.
Language Level Assessment
If you would like to take a language class, but are uncertain of the appropriate level or class, please see information below for the contact person or process for the relevant language.
English Language Studies
If you have no previous experience in French, enroll in 21G.301 French I (21G.351 for graduate students).
If you have taken one year of French in high school, or one semester at the college level, enroll in 21G.302 (21G.352 for graduate students).
If you have taken two years of French in high school, or two semesters at the college level, enroll in 21G.303 French III.
If you have taken three years of French in high school, or three semesters at the college level, enroll in 21G.304 French IV.

For students with no previous experience with Spanish, enroll in 21G.701 Spanish I (21G.751 if you are a graduate student).
For students who have taken one to two years of Spanish, contact Helena Belio-Apaolaza.
For students who have taken three years of Spanish and/or received a 3-4 on the AP test, contact Mariana San Martin.
For students who are heritage speakers of Spanish, contact Javier Barroso.
