Bio

Kirkley Silverman is a Part-time Lecturer in English Language Studies. She is primarily interested in English as a Second Language pedagogy and the expository writing process as well as integrating technology, storytelling, and flipped classroom techniques into second language learning. Her teaching career began in 2005 in China, where she taught postsecondary English in Zhejiang Province.  

She has co-presented at the TESOL international conference on “Showing vs. Telling Grammar,” introducing a guide for instructors to tutor ELL’s (English Language Learners) in writing. Kirkley is also an active writer of fiction and published creative nonfiction.
