Masami Ikeda-Lamm is a lecturer in Japanese. Besides teaching all levels of Japanese language courses, she currently serves as the Japanese language coordinator and the Japanese concentration advisor. She is also an organizer for the internationally accredited Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) that has been held at MIT since 2015. Her research interests are Japanese pedagogy, learner autonomy, proficiency assessment and academic writing in Japanese. Masami is a certified ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) tester in Japanese and also is a recipient of the 2016 Levitan Awards for Excellence in Teaching by the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at MIT.
